Conferences, Round #2

As a reminder: this time when we conference, I want you to give me a selection of work you might submit to a lit mag. That means you want to select your most finished work. I also want you to have a sense of where you want to submit it so that we can gameplan that process. Here's a general idea of what I'm looking for:

--Seven to ten pages of poetry (at least five poems).

...OR...

--Twenty-five pages of prose (at least two stories or essays).
These are ballparks. I humbly request you don't swamp me with 75-pages of prose. First of all, that'll make it tough for me to give you a thorough, timely reading. Second, most lit mags like prose to come in at under (sometimes well under) 5000 words. 75-pages of 5000-word stories would be about five stories. Five pretty big stories. Keep it to two or three, especially if they're long(ish).
